Abstract [sv]

Abstract [en]

The aim of this study is to evaluate whether or not the nurses in the nursing ward experience Medical Emergency Team (MET) to be an opportunity for bedside learning. A structured interview was carried out with our own questionnaire, and 47 nurses participated in the survey. The result showed that MET supplied knowledge among the nurses. The result also showed that nurses who had worked less than five years experienced MET to be an opportunity for bedside teaching, to a higher extent than nurses who had been working five years or more. Many of the nurses didn't regard MET to be an opportunity for bedside teaching. The reasons being, for example, stressful situations where the mobile team took over the patients care. The majority of nurses in our study felt that the doctor supplied knowledge. The intensive care nurse, however, was not regarded as supplying knowledge, according to several nurses in our study
