Bakgrund: Patientdelaktighet är viktigt för att uppnå personcentrerad vård och inkluderas i patientlagen. Patientdelaktighet främjar patientens position i vården, det innefattar respekt för patienten samt att patientens egen förmåga ska uppmuntras. Bedside rapportering (BSR) motiveras av att patienten inkluderas i sin vård men få tidigare studier har studerat hur BSR påverkar delaktighet. Syfte: Att undersöka hur BSR på vårdavdelning påverkar patientens delaktighet. Metod: Allmän litteraturstudie baserad på granskning av 14 vetenskapliga artiklar. Kvalitativa och kvantitativa artiklar användes med patient- och sjuksköterskeperspektiv samt begreppscentrerad teoretisk referensram för tolkning av delaktighet. Resultat: BSR kan leda till ökad delaktighet men det finns även faktorer som kan försämra delaktigheten. Forskningen som analyserats kunde inte ge en helhetsbild av hur BSR påverkar delaktighet Slutsats: Att undersöka hur BSR påverkar delaktighet är ej fullt möjligt då delaktighet bör ses ut ett bredare perspektiv än det i dagens forskningsläge gör. Att BSR skulle kunna främja delaktighet har setts men vid ett icke korrekt genomförande kan det även försämra delaktighet. Förslag på vidare forskning: Kvantitativ och kvalitativ forskning som mäter delaktighet ur flera aspekter samt forskning som berör odelaktighet föreslås.

Background: Patient participation is required by law and an integral part of achieving patient centered care. Patient participation improves the patients stature in care, it includes having respect for the individual, aswell as providing active encouragement of the patients own ability. Bedside handover is motivated for its ability to involve the patient, but little of previous research have investigated how it affects patient participation. Aim: To investigate how bedside handover affects patient participation. Method: Literature review of 14 scientific journal articles. Both qualitative and quantitative studies were included. A theoretical frame of reference was used to interpret patient participation. Result: Bedside handover can improve patient participation, but there are also factors that can lead to less patient participation. The analyzed articles could not give a full description of how bedside handover affects patient participation. Conclusion: It is not possible to describe fully how bedside handover affects patient participation because of lack of previous research. Bedside handover could improve patient participation but if applied in the wrong way could also hinder it. Further research: Both qualitative and quantitative research that measures several important aspects of patient participation and non-participation.
