Abstract [sv]

Bakgrund: Det palliativa vårdbehovet ökar globalt samt önskan att få vårdas i hemmet.Sjuksköterskors uppdrag inom palliativ vård i hemmet är av stor vikt samt att de har tillräcklig kunskap,samarbetar inom vårdteamet samt har en god relation med patient och deras närstående.

Syfte: Att beskriva sjuksköterskors erfarenhet av att utöva palliativ vård i hemmet.

Metod: Studien baserades på en allmän litteraturstudie av kvalitativ ansats. En tematisk innehållsanalysanvändes för att analysera data.

Resultat: Två teman genererades. Den första var ”En alternativ vårdmiljö” med tillhörande tvåunderteman ”Att känna sig förberedd” och ”Att kommunicera inom vårdteamet”. Det andra temat var”Lära känna personen bakom sjukdomen” med tillhörande två underteman ”Att uppleva känslomässigpåverkan i det dagliga arbetet” och ”Att skapa en relation med patienten och närstående”.

Slutsats: En ökad utbildning kring utövandet av det interprofessionella samarbetet hade gett störreförutsättningar för en god palliativ vård i hemmet. Även att kommunicera och ha strategier kringsjuksköterskors hantering av känslomässig påverkan i arbetet. En god relation mellan sjuksköterska,patient och deras närstående främjande en trygg och säker vård. Hemmet som vårdmiljö stärktemöjligheten till att ge en personcentrerad vård i patientens hem.

Abstract [en]

Background: The need for palliative care is increasing globally and the desire to have home-basedcare. Nurses' tasks in home-based palliative care are of great importance and having sufficientknowledge, cooperation within the care team and a good relationship with patients and their relatives.

Purpose: To describe nurses’ experiences of providing home-based palliative care

Method: The study was based on a general literature review with a qualitative approach. A thematiccontent analysis was used to analyze the data.

Results: Two themes were generated. The first was "An alternative care environment" with two subthemes"Feeling prepared" and "Communicating within the care team". The second theme was "Gettingto know the person behind the illness" with two sub-themes "Experiencing emotional impact in dailywork" and "Creating a relationship with the patient and relatives".

Conclusions: Increased education about how interprofessional collaboration should be practicedprovided greater conditions for good home-based palliative care. Also to communicate and havingstrategies how nurses can handle emotional impact at work. A good relationship between nurse, patientand their relatives promotes safe and secure care. A home-based care strengthened the possibility ofproviding person-centered care in the patient's home.
